This place comes with many recommendations from our Dutch friends – so we know for sure it is the kind of Italian that can meet Dutch approval not only in food but also in set-up. and indeed, in the heart of west Amsterdam, this place is a tiny trattoria with way too many tables but very good cooking. We go for a very tasty (if not slightly too complex) roast, a signature dish of the chef Fabio, there is a beautiful tartare, there is good supply of truffle, and as well a menu inspired by some classics (the buffalo mozzarella is fresh and oozing milk and attracts many) with a touch of creativity. the wine list is also good and we finish the dinner with some ice-cold limoncello after chatting with the Florence-born waiter. Very good and indeed we understand its immense popularity.
